MSG Raymond E. Bradbury Jr., U.S. Army (Ret.) “Rayboys”, 74, of Jasonville passed away at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2023 in his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born June 15, 1949 in Sullivan to Raymond E. Bradbury Sr. and Clara Bernice (Jenkins) Bradbury.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Iris A. Bradbury of Jasonville who he married on August 4, 1972; children, Bo (Stacy) Samm of Jasonville, Eric (Krystal) Bradbury of Lebanon, Rae Ann (Kenneth) Rogers of Sullivan, Andy Bradbury of Jasonville and Jennifer (Marvin) Padgett of Shelburn; grandchildren, Brooklyn, Mariah, Ayden, Collyn, Haley, Ethan, Isaac, Issiah, Raymond, Cody, Adam, Kaleb, Garret, Emily and Justin; 18 great-grandchildren; aunt, Dorothy Grady of Jasonville; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Shirley Pigg and Carolyn Sue Smith.

Raymond graduated from Shakamak High School. He served in the US Army in Vietnam for two years and in the Indiana Army National Guard for 20 years. Raymond and his wife owned and operated a liquor store in Hymera. He also worked in heating and refrigeration and for Swift in Worthington. Raymond was an avid coon hunter, fisherman and billiards player. He also liked working in the garden.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox of Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street in Jasonville. Visitation is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at the funeral home. Services are immediately following at 8 p.m. with Pastor Mark Messmer officiating, followed by military honors. In keeping with Raymond’s wishes, cremation will be scheduled following services.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Rayboys to Brown Baggers of Sullivan. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
