Stephen Douglas Suthard

Stephen Douglas Suthard, 75, of Owensburg passed away Friday, November 17, 2023 at his residence.

He was born January 7, 1948 in Linton, the son of William Travis Suthard and Grace Higar.

Stephen was retired as an operator for the IBEW Local 1393. He was a 1966 graduate from Linton-Stockton High School where he played football for four years.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War in the 101st Airborne from 1967 to 1968 as a Sargent. He received two Purple Heart medals for his heroic service. Stephen was a fifty-year member of the IBEW Local 1393, VFW, NRA, the John Birch Society, the American Legion and Sheriffs Association of Indiana. He loved fishing, mushroom hunting and being outdoors.

Surviving relatives include his three children, Jeff Suthard, Dylan Suthard and Marty Lynn Suthard as well as his six grandchildren, Justin Suthard, Jennifer Suthard, Elias Suthard, Wyla Suthard, Josh House and Melinda House.

He has thirteen great-grandchildren and one sister, Betty Ann Dunning.

A private celebration of live will be held at a later date.
