Dorothy M. (Edmonson) Dove

Dorothy M. (Edmonson) Dove, 98, of Jasonville passed away at 1 p.m. Monday, December 3, 2023 at Glenburn Nursing Home in Linton.

She was born February 8, 1925 in Jasonville to Carl L. Edmondson and Grace (Chittenden) Edmondson.

Dorothy married Sheldon “Bo” Dove on February 20, 1943, and he passed away in 1991.

Survivors include her daughter, Carol Sue (Michael) Preecs of Danville; grandchildren, Kelli (Greg) Griffith of Lewis, Kim (Chuck) Reynolds of Sullivan, Scott (Becky) Hayes of Worthington, Todd (Valerie) Preecs of Danville and Janice (Don) Carter of Danville; great-grandchildren, Lucas, Paige, Curt, Chase, Colton, Emily, Grace, Olivia, Kendra, Trent, Cassandra, Miranda and Jared along with 13 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Patricia Hayes and siblings, including ten brothers and sisters.

Dorothy graduated from Jasonville High School in the Class of 1943. She had belonged to Triad, Jasonville American Legion Auxillary. Dorothy enjoyed bowling and played in a league. She also liked playing bingo and enjoyed sewing.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox of Cox Funeral Home, 218 South Meridian Street in Jasonville. Visitation is scheduled from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, December 8, 2023 at the funeral home. Services are immediately following at 1 p.m. with Pastor David Smith officiating.

Interment will be at Peavey Cemetery in Howesville.
