Mary Souders

Mary Souders, age 85, of Linton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Elnora on March 17, 1939 the daughter of Rollie and Jesse (Walls) Byrer.

She was a graduate of Elnora School. She worked as the house keeping supervisor at Sony and then, after retirement, she worked at Glenburn Home in the activities center and also drove around the residents. She loved playing bingo, quilting, crocheting and doing word puzzles.

Mary is survived by her children, Sally (Kevin) Moore, Teresa Rose, Jeff (Jan) Kamplain, Lora Mason, David (Brenda) Reed and Debra (Jeff) Burris; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Elisha Sterling as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Sue Sullivan and Karen Jeffers; husbands, Marvin Kamplain and Rex Reed; grandson, James Allen; granddaughter, Laura Kamplain; great-granddaughter, Jeana Rose; sons-in-law, Roger Rose and Gregg Dode Mason; daughter-in-law, Pam Kamplain and siblings, Robert Byrer, Sally Edmonson, Doris Ermagene Bechtel, Lois Imogene Earls, Betty Nalker and John Byrer.

Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Friday, May 3, 2024 with Jeff Fulk officiating.

Memorial visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 11 a.m. until time of service.
