College Football Championship in Indianapolis?
Monday night, two teams from the southern part of the nation in Alabama and Georgia will migrate up to Indianapolis for the College Football National Championship game.
If you can’t tell, this is hilarious.
The fans of Alabama and Georgia want no part of the Midwest in January. An Atlanta sports writer has already written a piece criticizing Indianapolis as the location of the game.
Indy was picked years ago, thanks to the size and splendor of Lucas Oil Stadium and the fact that Indy has hosted sports events in the past with great success.
Nobody from Alabama cares about that though. They want to go to the Rose Bowl in California or the Orange Bowl in Miami for the big game. Anywhere that is warm. Anywhere but up North.
When you think of the SEC and the Securities and Exchange Commission immediately pops in your head, chances are, we will never be friends. The SEC has the current slogan of “It just means more” as people have actually bought T-shirts with this stuff on it.
We will see if the game still means more to these fans up in frigid Indiana. Not all SEC schools would hate the idea of coming to Indiana as Kentucky and Missouri are cold weather states too. Georgia and Alabama fans however, I doubt they know what a wind chill factor is.
So enjoy the College Football Championship game in Indianapolis. I doubt it will ever make a return.
