Celebrating one year
This week marks one year. One year of living full time in Greene County, and one year of being on the staff here at the Daily World.
I don’t know what I expected it to be like, but it has definitely been quite the ride. I’ll admit I’ve made my mistakes, made blunders upon blunders like any person would in their first big-kid job. And, boy, were they disheartening.
But at the same time, I’ve learned so much. From breaking some of my old creative writing degree habits and remembering to incorporate AP style instead to learning how to navigate different types of stories to learning how to use different computer programs (yes, it’s true. The younger generations really don’t know all there is to know about technology.)
In this brief time, I’ve met so many wonderful people and had the chance to witness some amazing things. And outside of work, I’ve learned and seen even more.
Lest we forget the disappearing mouse trap incident of January 2022. That is one I hope to never have happen again. Though, at least I know my hammer is good at hitting more than nails...
One year down, who knows how many more to come?
