Orville E. Parsley, 84, of Loogootee, passed away at 4:22 a.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at the Mitchell Manor Nursing Home in Mitchell. The body was cremated and graveside memorial services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. (Central Time) at Kentucky Ridge Cemetery located on State Road 58 in Greene County. Graveside military rites will be conducted by Bloomfield American Legion Post No. 196 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW)...

In keeping with tradition, the Linton Freedom Festival parade once again lined the streets with colorful floats, patriotic spirit, musical notes and littered curbsides. While most of you sat back and watched the parade unfold, I mingled with the crowd hastily scribbling notes and snapping shots in hopes of obtaining a story...

This week, Greene County mourned the loss of Joe Sullivan. Sullivan served the county as prosecutor, the city of Linton as city attorney as well as serving numerous individuals in court cases. In addition, he served as judge pro tem numerous times. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this tough time...

The city of Jasonville is currently accepting applications for the 2007 Ed Sheppard Award. The award is named after Sheppard, a former bank cashier in the community.
