UPDATED: Water main break in Switz City; 48-hour water boil ordered

The town of Switz City is under a 48-hour water boil order as a precautionary measure following a water main break that disrupted service to town customers for nearly 12 hours early Tuesday. The start of White River Valley Junior-Senior High School was delayed two hours until 10 a.m. to allow workmen from Graves Plumbing Company to fix the leak, according to school superintendent Layton Wall. Rick Graves told the Greene County Daily World that the break occurred about midnight when a fire hydrant on Main Street that was being used to fight a fire about one block from the residential fire on Fletcher Street was hooked up.

Aerial mapping considered by county to assist property assessment, police
