UPDATED: Linton couple arrested in Illinois
(Local News ~ 07/11/13)
A Linton couple was arrested in Illinois over the weekend, both wanted on warrants issued in connection with drug cases. Brandon S. Missel and April L. Missel, also known as April L. Feutz, were taken into custody in Quincy, Ill. around 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 6 and booked into the Adams County Jail in Quincy. Brandon Missel, 29, was wanted on a warrant issued out of LaSalle County, Ill. for failure to appear in a drug case. He remains in custody in Illinois. April Missel, 33, was returned to Indiana and booked into the Greene County Jail Wednesday by Greene County Special Deputy Karen Oliphant. The Missels were originally arrested in early September of 2010 after an investigation by the Greene County Drug Task Force, led by Det. Joshua Goodman of the Linton Police Department and Det. Ryan Van Horn of the Jasonville Police Department, into suspected drug-dealing activity at their residence in Linton. April Missel, April Feutz at the time of the 2010 arrest, was charged with: Four counts of dealing in a Schedule IV controlled substance, all class B felonies; one count of maintaining a common nuisance, a class D felony; and one count of possession of marijuana, a class A misdemeanor. Brandon Missel was charged with: One count of dealing in a Schedule IV controlled substance, a class B felony; one count of maintaining a common nuisance, a class D felony; and possession of marijuana, a class A misdemeanor. April Missel was convicted and sentenced in January of 2011 for one count of dealing in a Schedule IV controlled substance within 1,000 feet of school property -- a class B felony. Brandon Missel was also convicted and sentenced, on a less serious charge than April Missel, and was currently on probation. Following his arrest in Illinois, a petition to revoke his suspended sentence in the Greene County drug case was filed on Monday and a warrant was issued for his arrest on Wednesday. He has not been returned to Indiana but is being held in Illinois where he's wanted on a warrant issued for failure to appear in connection with another drug case. When he is returned to Indiana, he is to be held without bond pending an appearance in Greene Circuit Court. Court records show that Brandon Missel has also racked up three tickets for driving while suspended -- infractions, issued on June 10, 18 and 26 in Greene County. April Missel was incarcerated on her sentence, then released and was on probation. Then on May 21, the Greene County Probation Department filed a petition to revoke her suspended sentence for an alleged probation violation. A warrant was issued for her arrest and she was back in the Greene County Jail on May 22 with bond set at $10,000 surety with 10 percent cash allowed. April Missel did not post bond but on May 30, Missel was released on her own recognizance to go into a treatment program. Then she skipped out, Greene Circuit Court was notified and a new warrant for April Missel's arrest was issued on June 19. Deputy Oliphant picked April Missel up in Illinois and Missel was booked in around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday to the Greene County Jail where she's being held without bond.

UPDATED: Suspect wanted on warrant caught after high-speed chase and flipping his vehicle
(Local News ~ 07/11/13)
A 21-year-old Hymera man armed with three weapons, including an SKS assault rifle, led area police on a high-speed chase Thursday night before crashing his vehicle on Lone Tree Road, south of State Road 48 in Greene County. Travis A. Flowers, 21, of Hymera, was taken into custody after leading officers on a chase where speeds reached 85 mph, according to Jasonville Assistant Police Chief Jim Gadberry. "Officers familiar with Flowers had been searching for Flowers most of the day after he was reported by Sullivan County officials to have stolen a 1994 Pontiac Grand Am in one incident and firearms, including an SKS rifle, 12 gauge shotgun and a .357 mag revolver and some cash from another Hymera residence," Gadberry told the Greene County Daily World. "Officers searched several homes in Clay, Sullivan and Greene County after they received information that he was armed with the stolen firearms. Flowers had said he wasn't going back to jail and intended on harming officers that tried to take him." The pursuit started in Clay County, north of Coalmont, and ended in Greene County on Lone Tree north of CR 800N where Flowers was taken into custody without incident. Flowers is currently incarcerated in the Greene County Jail in Bloomfield on preliminary charges of felony resisting law enforcement, possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, possession of a stolen vehicle, reckless driving and a felony theft warrant . The warrant was issued earlier in the day on Thursday after an investigation by JPD Officer Ryan Van Horn. Officers from Jasonville PD, Linton PD, Greene and Clay County Sheriffs departments and Indiana Conservation Officers all took part in the manhunt. Flowers will also face additional charges in Sullivan County, according to Gadberry.
