Shakamak Medical Center will host ribbon cutting Monday

It took studies, grants, donations and some elbow grease, but after four years of work the Shakamak Medical Center will finally open. The center will open Monday with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9 a.m. at the center located at 714 W. Main St. Cook said it will kick off the center's service to the community. Board secretary Joan Cook said work towards the center started in 2009 and was incorporated in May 2010. She said the nine board members have been dedicated to creating the clinic to serve the Jasonville community.
