Indianapolis - CODIS is the Combined DNA Index System which came into existence by legislative act in 1996. As originally enacted, the law required people convicted of crimes against persons or burglary to provide a DNA sample, or profile, for the database. In 2005 the law was expanded to include DNA profiles of persons convicted for any felony offense.....

On Tuesday, the Commissioners approved an indemnification agreement with Greene County General Hospital which will authorize the Greene County Sheriff's Department to deputize officers working in the hospital. This agreement is similar to what the Commissioners approved with the county school corporations, which gave them the authority to hire school resource officers.....

Donald Lee Flaherty, 73 of Linton, Indiana passed away at his residence on Sunday, October 18, 2015. He was born on August 6, 1942 in Washington, DC to Richard and Maudie Flaherty. Donald served in the United States Navy as well as the Navy Reserve. He worked as a Pilot Examiner for many years until his retirement in 2005. Donald was a member of the American Legion Post #22...

CLAY CITY -- The IHSAA holds a blind draw for all of its postseason match-ups, but the Class A 57 Sectional at Clay City is almost a carbon copy from last year. BLOOMFIELD -- During a special session Tuesday evening, members of the Bloomfield Town Council discussed the possibility of raising commercial sewage rates. The way the commercial rates are structured in Bloomfield was through a rate study conducted in 2009. After the rate study was presented to the council, the rates were raised, and have remained the same since 2009.....

Firefighters responded to a fire in downtown Bloomfield Tuesday night. Greene County Sheriff's Department Dispatch received a call at 8:04 p.m. regarding smoke at Taylor Creations Upholstery and Repair, located at 214 East Spring Street.
