Claudie R. Weaver, 84, of Linton, formerly of Bloomington, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Glenburn Nursing Home in Linton. He was born June 25, 1932 in Monroe County, to Earl and Delia (Carmichael) Weaver. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Claudie was a farmer, raising cattle and employed at GE in Bloomington for over 30 years before he retired... -
Harold Lee Weaver (Obituary ~ 05/01/17)
Harold Lee Weaver, 65, of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully, on Friday, April 28, 2017 in Terre Haute. He was born in Breman, Ind. on Feb. 11, 1952 to Robert L. and Joan (Phillip) Weaver. Harold was an SAL member of the Jasonville American Legion Post #172. He worked in construction as a roofer and most recently worked as a custodian at Terre Haute Nursing Home. He loved watching NASCAR, with Rusty Wallace being his favorite driver, enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors... -

Street ramps undergoing updates (Local News ~ 05/01/17)
The City of Linton is updating street corners to fit with Americans with Disabilities (ADA) standards. According to Linton Mayor John Wilkes, roughly 60 street corners are being updated. “Our engineers took the plans and selected the corners around town,” Wilkes said. “We’re slowly working on a plan established three to four years ago.”... -
Recent storm adds to area drainage woes (Local News ~ 05/01/17)
Weekend weather resulted in an excess of storm water over the weekend. Several areas mentioned in the Linton storm water plan on April 26 were overflowing on Monday afternoon, such as the pictured area near Greene County General Hospital. If completely approved, Linton's storm water plan could tackle 15 different areas of concern throughout the city. -
