Feed Store Beer Company debuts in Greene County
(Local News ~ 05/12/17)
Two of the four founders of Feed Store Beer Company attended Friday’s Birds of a Feather Fine Mercantile Spring Fling in the barns of the Greene County Fairgrounds in order to debut their new brewery. Pictured is Steve and Stacy Corbin, who along with Sawyer and Sammie Sparks, plan to open the brewery where Holtsclaw’s Standard Feed Store was located for nearly 80 years in Bloomfield. Stacy Corbin said her husband Steve has been brewing at home and perfecting his recipes for several years, and will eventually craft the beer on site. Corbin said an opening date has not yet been set, as they are “working out licensing and equipment.” Food will also be served at the brewery, according to Corbin, and they already have active Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts where they frequently advertise. Corbin said they were serving samples of several kinds of beer on Friday including a ‘standard cream ale’, which is a nod to the building’s previous occupant. The beer company plans to serve several beers regularly, though will also rotate beers, Corbin said. Although the brewery has advertised in Indianapolis and Bloomington events, Corbin said this is the first time the brewery has debuted in Greene County. The Birds of a Feather Fine Mercantile Spring Fling is also going on today, from 9-4 in the barns of the Greene County Fairgrounds.
