Melvin Lee Roy Pinkston, 69, of Hymera, passed away peacefully at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2019 in his home with family at his side. He was born July 11, 1949 in Sullivan County to Thelma (Morgan) Moses and Paul Lee Pinkston. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Thereasa (Dickey) Pinkston of Hymera, who he married on November 15, 1986; children, Cory Pinkston (Christi) of Booneville, Dana Pinkston of Louisville, Ky, Gayle Terrell of Hymera; grandchildren, Ava Singhurse, Madelynn Terrell, Millie Terrell, Alex Pinkston, Alyssa Pinkston; brothers, David Pinkston (Jan) of Sullivan, Cambel (Lori) Moses, Jr. ... -

In late 2018, the Indiana Department of Homeland Security received a federal Fire Prevention and Safety Grant to dedicate resources toward reducing injury and preventing fire deaths in high-risk populations.
