William Earl Gleason

William Earl Gleason, 62, of Linton, passed away at 11:44 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at Greene County General Hospital in Linton.

Born Aug. 28, 1939, in Gary, he was the son of Fred J. and Helen L. (Chaney) Gleason.

He worked in the steel mills in Gary for nine years and sold cars for 16 years. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his mother, Helen L. Gleason of Lyons; one son, Christopher W. Gleason of Valparaiso; one daughter, Heidi L. Rider of Hamilton, Ohio; one grandson, Joshua Wayne Rider of Hamilton, Ohio; and one niece, Abbey Jaynes of Lake Station.

He was preceded in death by his father, Fred J. Gleason, and one sister, Dorothy L. Kulak.

Welch & Cornett Linton Chapel is in charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation.

A private family graveside service will be conducted at a later date at Fairview Cemetery.
