Family touched by community support

To the Editor:

Words can not express how much everyone's thoughtfulness and prayers have meant to our family in the recent lose of our son Justin "Jay" Shane Mowery. He touched many lives for the short 19 years he was here with us.

With the over whelming turnout at the funeral home some of you were unable to wait in line, but we know you were there and want to thank you for coming. We would like to thank everyone for the food, cards, calls, flowers, gifts, kind words, visits and donations to Justin's scholarship fund.

We would like to thank the staff at Welch and Cornett for all they have done to make this most difficult time much easier for us as well as a very special thanks too Pastor Terry Dowell and Faithway Bible Church and Pastor Rony Reyes and Lebanon Baptist Church. A special thanks to Renee Mowery (Justin's aunt) who provided the music at the funeral and to Tom Tribe who played at the grave side.

We would also like to thank Mary Beth Jerrells at Bloomfield State Bank for the scholarship arrangements she made in honor of Justin. We want to thank the class of 2006 and Derrick McDonald, class president for the window stickers in memory of Justin; with the proceeds going to benefit Justin's scholarship fund.

Also, we would like to thank Matt Davis and the other members of his band for organizing a benefit concert with the proceeds going to benefit Justin's scholarship fund. I am sure we are forgetting someone, please forgive us your kindness has not been overlooked.

Lastly, the following poem was written by Dustin Mattox, a good friend of our family about Justin and I would like to share this with everyone, especially those who were close to him.

When you see a jet

Streak with no planes

Around if I was a betting man

I'd say that's were Jay can be found

Cutting a path on a bike

Across the clear blue sky but you better look fast or he'll

Just pass you by

That's the way he lived

How he would of wanted to go always fast and not at all slow

And he wouldn't have wanted you to feel sorry or shed no tears

Just be happy for those 19 years

The ones where you laughed and cried

Hoped and loved

And I can guarantee you one thing

He'll be waiting at those gates to meet you one day when you are called above.
