Letter to the Editor

Is being the next JFK a good thing for our country?

Monday, February 4, 2008

To the Editor:

The media informs us that the Kennedys are endorsing Barack Obama for president. The media has also suggested Obama as the new JFK. Is this a "kiss of death?"

With Obama's popularity growing as it is, it conjures up a very scary scenario. This has all the ingredients of a national disaster, on the scale of 9/11 and even worse.

John F. Kennedy was assassinated. What would happen, in this country, if Barack Obama were to be assassinated, by a white man? (Redneck). The major cities in this country would all be ablaze and many of our citizens would be killed.

Racial prejudice is not dead in this country. Now, let's take this scenario a step farther. Al Qaida could persuade or bribe or both, a willing white accomplice to do the deed.

With agitators placed in key areas, they would incite racial riots across the country, with catastrophic results. Such an event would destroy our country. I hope Al Qaida doesn't read this letter and I hope Homeland Security does.

When someone applies some thought to this idea, one can see how easy it would be to carry this plan to a successful conclusion.

This is a very scary situation!

Thanks for listening.
