Protect our Constitution

To the Editor:

From conversations I've overheard and articles and letters we read in the papers, I get the idea that many people are not aware of what our Constitution is nor what it means. They seem to be unaware that this administration is "hell bent" for destroying our Constitution.

They are sworn to uphold and defend this Constitution, which is the foundation this great country was built upon. They are determined to put us in a position where the rest of the world will tell us what we can and cannot do. We will lose our freedoms that are now guaranteed us by our Constitution.

Beware of their "bait and switch" tactics where they get your attention directed on one subject, then they'll slip another in before you notice it.

The issue that has been on the back burner is now being brought forward. They call it "Cap and Trade." This issue will be fought for in the same manner as Obama care, which was rammed down our throats by our gutless elected, while this issue captures our attention. Hillary will be signing treaties with the "world" issues like climate integrity and gun control. These UN issues are designed to diminish the power of our great country and relegate us to Third World status.

With our economy in shambles, rising taxes, crippling environmental regulations, disarming citizenry, our teeth have been extracted. We will have lost our value as a balance of power. The Marxists will then be the dominant force in the world with the puppet UN being the legislative tool. Khruschev warned us that they'll take us without firing a shot. They are patient but determined. They have been working against us for 100 years. They take advantage of our weaknesses.

Right now, our weakness is us. Like Walt Kelly said in the funny paper strip "Pogo." We have met the enemy and they is us." We are so mentally lazy that we let our political party and labor unions tell how to think and vote. Wake up and smell the coffee! They are leading us into an alley where their goons will jack roll us.

Is it too much to ask, that you educate yourself on the issues and most of all, the U.S. Constitution? Don't rely on others for protection, defend yourself with knowledge and good old "common sense."

Thanks you for listening.

To the Editor:

We would like to send a special thank you to our family, friends, and neighbors for all of the support that they have provided to us over the last weeks.

Our father, Roy Lee Floyd, was a giving man who met people with a smile, and we have found that same kindness extended to us.

When Dad moved into Glenburn Nursing Home, the staff made him comfortable and secure; they also were helpful and encouraging to all of our family members. We want to thank them for the personal care and for how they have touched our hearts.

Furthermore, the staff at Greene County General Hospital and Bloomington Hospital proved compassionate and involved with Dad's care, and we were blessed by them.

During Dad's illness and after his passing, so many people gave of their time to visit as well as send cards, digital messages, flowers, food, and prayers. Arlen Pope and Grant Riggins offered words of wisdom and many memories for Dad's funeral, and the women from the Bloomfield Church of Christ provided a delicious meal for us after the service. Family and friends from all over Indiana and from other states have held us in their care.

Dad's life has been honored by all of these acts of kindness, and we have felt love and comfort.

God bless you all.
