Keith “Scooter” Biggs

Keith “Scooter” Biggs, age 75, of Lyons, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 30, 2022, at the Terre Haute Regional Hospital surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Linton on August 31, 1947, the son of Melvin and Jean (Bradfield) Biggs.

He was a 1965 graduate of L&M High School and retired from Crane in 2000. In between that time, he served in the US Navy and the Indiana National Guard while traveling the world. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Lyons, American Legion Post 479, UDT-SEAL Association and the Masonic Lodge. He was well-known to the community for playing Santa Claus and for being a Harley Davidson enthusiast. He never missed a chance to pull a prank or tell a tall-tale. You either loved him or hated him. Well, or maybe you loved and hated him.

Keith is survived by his estranged wife, Deborah (Masters) Biggs of Va.; the mother of his daughters, Connie (Moore) Sears; children, Lynnette (Jeff) Shrank of Sandborn, Shane Biggs of Va., and Celeste (Ian) Long of Ala.; grandchildren, Persephanie (Zach) Clifford, Benjamin (Tiara) Long, Seth Long and Wylan Long; great-grandchild Katherine Clifford as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Kristal (Biggs) Slager.

Celebration of life services will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at the Lyons American Legion Post 479.
