Marcia M. (Melton) Reese

Marcia M. (Melton) Reese, 96, of Jasonville, passed away at 7:19 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2023 in Regional Hospital in Terre Haute.

She was born January 1, 1927 in Clay City to Otis Melton and Josephine (Cooprider) Melton.

Survivors include her grandsons, Christopher Fox and Matthew S. Fox (Kerry) of Linton; great-grandchildren, Kirsten M. Fox, Kage Fougerousse and Addison Fougerousse (Keaton); great-great-grandchild, Novah Cox.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Stephanie Fox/Orman; son, Stephen J. Reese; sisters, Jo Ann Luther and Rose Lee Cotter; nephew, Richard L. Luther and companion, John Crowe.

Marcia graduated Clay City High School Class of 1945. She worked in her family’s restaurant, Elite Café, while she was in high school, Dr. Sam Rotmans office and the Freeman Greene Hospital. She also worked in real estate and the House Of James Beauty College in Indianapolis. Marcia was in Tri Kappa and was a member of American Legion Auxillary Post 331 in Brownsburg. She enjoyed crocheting, working crossword puzzles and word searches.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street in Jasonville. Visitation is scheduled from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2023 at the funeral home. Services are immediately following at 4 p.m. with Pastor Randy Tucker officiating. She will be placed in her crypt at Rose Lawn Cemetery at a later date.
