Treva L. (Chaney) Padgett

Treva L. (Chaney) Padgett, of Spencer, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, March 13, 2023. She was born on September 19, 1933 in Linton, the daughter of Haldon and Tessie (Bailey) Chaney.

Treva graduated from Linton-Stockton High School class of 1951. She owned and operated Treva’s Beauty Shop in Linton for several years. Treva was a longtime member of the Spencer First Christian Church and previous member of the Linton First Christian Church. She enjoyed fishing, watching westerns and spending time with family and friends.

Treva is survived by her daughter, Melissa Cody (Jim) of Linton; two step-sons, Jerry Lee Padgett (Karen) of Indianapolis and John Thomas Padgett (Kim) of South Bend; best friend, Mary; fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John W. Padgett; two sons, Mark Henico and Marland Henico; and a grandson Andrew Padgett.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 17, 2023 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home with Pastor Allan Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Chambersville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
