FREE ACCESS: GC EMA warns of possible large-scale storms Tuesday

Sunday, April 2, 2023

Greene County Emergency Management Agency Director Roger Axe issued a press release late Sunday to warn county residents of a possible large-scale storm system coming in on Tuesday and asking everyone to be prepared.

"We could potentially see storms and tornadoes like last Friday, and Greene County is in the path," Axe said. "We are issuing this warning to residents, not to cause panic, but to ask you to be on guard and take precautions now to assure your safety. Be certain you have flashlights, batteries, food, fuel, water and your medications on hand and in a safe place you can easily access.

If you are in a mobile home or manufactured housing, be ready to move to a safer spot and take your medications with you.

We certainly hope nothing happens, but with the situations in our sister counties of Sullivan, Owen and Monroe, we feel it's best not to take chances. Time is on our side to be prepared."
