James “Mike” Michael East

James “Mike” Michael East, age 85, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 12:20 a.m. on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at Glenburn Home in Linton. He was born in Bedford on November 10, 1937, the son of Evan George and Margaret Katherine (Burke) East.

Mike was a 1956 graduate of Bedford High School. He served in the Army National Guard. He retired from AT&T after 37 years of service.

Mike enjoyed woodworking, bowing, golf, and watching sports.

He is survived by his son, Joe David (Cheryl) East of Linton; a grandson, Jeremy East; a great-grandson, Matthew Ryan East; and a sister, Martha East Ray.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 66 years, Nancy East; a son, James East, Jr.; and a grandson, Ryan East.

There will be no visitation or service.
