James (Jim) George Corzine

James (Jim) George Corzine, age 76, of Linton, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2023, at Cloverleaf Healthcare of Knightsville in Clay County. He was born in Terre Haute on March 22, 1947, the son of James Leon and Ellen Arlena (Cook) Corzine.

He was a graduate of Avon High School and Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana. Jim was a veteran of the United States Air Force, in active service from 1965-1969. He worked as a maintenance electrician for many years in both Indianapolis and Bloomington. Jim loved camping and the outdoors, at one time serving as a scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts. He also served his community, volunteering in his local church and assisting with activities for the residents of the Linton nursing home.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Barbara (Willen) Corzine, of Linton; children, Arlena Corzine of Cherry Hill, N.J., Jim (Patsy) Corzine of Linton and Joe Corzine of Terre Haute; one brother, Kevin (Shannon) Corzine of Terre Haute and one sister Jane (Don) Julien of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two grandchildren, Matthew and Michaela; one great-grandson, Emerson; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Arlena; his step-mother, Mary Jo Corzine and his sister, Patricia C. McGillicuddy.

Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Monday, April 17, 2023 with Pastor Chris Ferguson officiating.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
