Shalmir Jean (Behem) Watkins

Shalmir Jean (Behem) Watkins, 94, of Bloomington, formerly of Bloomfield, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at the Christina Place in Franklin.

Born February 3, 1929 in Sullivan, she was the daughter of Lloyd S. and Opal E. (Bryan) Behem. Shalmir worked at various offices at the Greene County Court House.

Surviving relatives include one son, Robert Bryan Watkins (Ronda); a grandson, Robert L. Watkins (Jenna Baxter); granddaughter, Hilary J. Watkins and a great-granddaughter, McKenna Lucille Watkins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Wayne” Watkins on December 3, 1987; her sister, Shirley Ann Hiatt and her parents.

Private graveside services will be conducted at Woodward cemetery in Sullivan County.
