Norman Workman

Norman L. Workman, 92, of Clearwater, Fla., formerly of Linton, passed away peacefully with hospice at Manor Care of Palm Harbor on May 6, 2023. He was born December 19, 1930, the son of Lowell Curtis Workman and Myrtle (Fredrick) Workman.

Norman retired from Peabody Coal Company after 40 years, with his last several years operating a drag line. While living in Clearwater, he served as a crossing guard where children absolutely adored him, and he and his wife Judi also served as ushers for several years at Ruth Eckered Hall.

Survivors include his son, Brent E. Workman; daughter, Kimberly (Tony) Ledbetter; three grandchildren, Jessica Workman, Joshua Workman and Jason (Amanda) Lundy; four great-grandchildren, Emma and Brooklyn Workman and Jazlyn and Justus Lundy; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Julienne (Judi Francis Scherer) Workman, whom he married on July 30, 1950; his sister, Connie Sue (Workman) Wright; and his brother-in-law, Jimmie K. Wright.
