Rosanna Harshman, 91, of Worthington, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at Glenburn Home in Linton. Rosanna was born September 26, 1931, in Greene County and was the daughter of the late William Dale Street, Sr. and Luveta (Watson) Street. She had one brother, William Dale Street, Jr. Unfortunately, her mother Luveta passed away from childbirth when Rosanna was only two and a half years old. Her brother was born on May 20, 1933. Her mother passed away about three weeks later from childbirth complications. In spite of this unfortunate occurrence, she and her brother Bill enjoyed good times together.

Rosanna was a lifelong resident of Greene County. After graduating from high school, she married the love of her life, Albert Harshman, on July 1, 1950. She was first employed at a factory in Indianapolis and later worked for RCA in Bloomington for many years. She and her loving husband, Albert, were farmers in Greene County. For many years, they had a dairy farm just above the well-known viaduct in Greene County. Rosanna loved working at RCA and loved the farm life. She would rise early and help Albert with the dairy cows and then meet her riders in Bloomfield and drive to Bloomington for a busy day at RCA on South Rogers Street. She then returned home to help Albert with the milk house in the evening. Rosanna designed and built their very innovative milk house. She was so proud of it and enjoyed the long hours working there. She and Albert were very hardworking and loved the farm and cattle. The pride of her life was her self-designed milk house and blue silo that dawned their name. Even in her years at the nursing home, she would proudly tell people about their life on the dairy farm. She and Albert were very devoted to each other. When Albert passed in March of 2021, it was very difficult for Rosanna. She then moved to the Glenburn Home where she remained. The workers at Glenburn became her family and home. She really enjoyed all of the activities. She was their best helper and participated in many activities. Unfortunately, in recent months she developed aggressive breast cancer which metastasized and took her to meet her beloved husband, Albert. The two had no children but were devoted to each other and were a team in whatever they were doing. Their devotion to each other was truly a positive example. They were married over 70 years.

Rosanna was preceded in death by her husband, Albert in March 2021; her parents and her brother, Bill in 2018. She missed all of them greatly.

Rosanna is survived by her sister-in-law, Martha Street; her nephew, William Jay Street (Heather) and a great-niece, Sophia R. Street who lives in Naperville, Ill. She is also survived by nieces and nephews of her loving husband, Albert.

We thank all of the workers at Glenburn for their wonderful devotion to making her last days pleasant and happy.

A Celebration of Life for Rosanna is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Monday, August 21, 2023 at Tulip Church of God, 1834 East Tulip Road in Bloomfield, with Rev. Jeff Rockey officiating.

Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
