Michael Ray Jones

Michael Ray Jones, age 57, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 1:41 p.m. on Sunday, August 13, 2023, at his residence. He was born in Linton on April 1, 1966, the son of Donald Jones and Sharon (Taylor) Jones.

Michael was a 1984 graduate of Calvary Baptist School in Linton and earned his bachelor degree in electrical technology from Indiana State University. He worked for many years as an electrical mechanic at Brickcraft in Center Point.

Michael was a member of First Baptist Church, F. & A.M. Masonic Lodge 560 and B.P.O. Elks 866, all of Linton.

He enjoyed watching sports, attending Linton Miner Football games, taking jeep rides and spending time with his granddaughter.

He is survived by daughter, Lindsey (Dylan) Rae Hazlewood of Linton; parents, Donald Jones and Sharon Jones of Linton; a sister, Beverley Westfall of Linton; granddaughter, Aria Marie Hazlewood of Linton; and a grandson due in September.

Funeral service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 18, 2023, with Rev. David Tyra officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a Masonic Service at 7 p.m., and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday.
