Frankie Lee Cox, 85, of Linton, passed from this life, surrounded by his family, on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at his home. He was born on December 4, 1937, in Linton to Frank and Ruth Darling (Barnard) Cox. Frankie married his loving wife, Bette Jean ‘Jeanne’ (Johnson) Cox, on December 14, 1979.

Frankie was a 50-year member of the Linton Masonic Lodge 560 F & A.M. and a member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge 253 of Worthington. He loved hunting and fishing with family and friends. Frankie enjoyed playing cards with his friends at the Worthington Senior Center. He was well-known for selling produce at the Linton City Park with best friend, Peewee Johnson. Frankie retired in 1998 from Peabody Coal Co. with 32 years of service.

Family left to cherish the memories of Frankie include one son, Jeffrey (Sandy) Cox; four daughters, Kimberley Holcomb, Pamela (Wayne Wolfe) Aynes, Laura (Chris) Blanton, all of Linton and Mitzi Johnson (Bert Clark) of Worthington; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one brother, Charles R. (Judy) Cox of Linton.

Frankie was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jeanne Cox; one son, Frankie Lee Cox, Jr.; son-in-law, John Holcomb; brother, John H. Cox; sister, Sharon R. Titus and nephew, Michael Cox.

Funeral services to honor the life of Frankie will be at 1:15 p.m. on Monday, October 16, 2023 at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Pastor Dan Hunt officiating. A Masonic Memorial Service will be at 1 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Frankie will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
