Patricia Mae (Kirk) Brown

Patricia Mae (Kirk) Brown, 98, of Lyons, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at her residence.

Born July 11, 1925 in Bicknell, she was the daughter of Dorence and Lorene (Salzman) Kirk. She later married George H. Brown on February 17, 1946.

Pat was the co-owner of Brown’s TV and worked as an Aeronautical Design Engineer for Goodyear Aircraft in Akron, Ohio during World War II. She was a member of the Lyons First Christian Church, the Home and Community Circle Homemakers Club, The Greene County Cemetery Board and the Historical Society.

Surviving relatives include her children, William “Butch” Brown (Lori) of Bloomfield, Alan Brown (Janet) of Bloomfield, Jon Brown (Rhonda) of Grayville, Ill. and L’Louise Childress (Wayne) of Bloomfield; 21 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Brown in 1995; children, Melodye Mumma, Susan Brown, James Brown and Linda Chadd; granddaughters, Laurie Price and Eileen Arthur; her stepfather, Wallace Riggs; and her parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 30, 2023 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Lyons with Rev. Kenneth Coffman officiating. Interment will follow in Marco Cemetery.

Public visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to the Greene County Cemetery Commission. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
