Beatrice Viola Bowers

Beatrice Viola Bowers, 86, of Bloomfield, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at Glenburn Home in Linton.

Born July 13, 1937 in Bloomington, she was the daughter of James Alvin Crabb and Martha Melvina (Chandler) Crabb Duncan.

Beatrice retired from Westinghouse and attended the Switz City Full Gospel Church.

Surviving relatives include her husband, Joseph Leon Bowers; one son, Phillip George; step daughters, Jody Ferree and Darla Mason; her sisters, Barbara Muse and Joyce Rogers; grandchildren, Holly Hanson, Erica Kluesner, Joshua George, Dusty Jerrell, Luke Jerrell, Ashlee Meador and Hannah Sullivan; twenty great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jesse George; one brother, Junior Duncan; two grandchildren, Craig Jerrell and Brian Mason and her parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Vernon Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Chapel Cemetery.

Public visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
