Joseph “Joe” White

Joseph “Joe” White, age 45, of Worthington, passed away at 12:45 p.m. on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Bloomington on December 8, 1978, the son of David L. and Robin M. (Weaver) White.

He was a 1997 graduate of White River Valley High School and then went on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Indiana State University. He was a United States Army Reserve Veteran who served as a Mental Health Specialist. He enlisted in 2000 and was deployed in 2002 and 2004 in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom where he received several awards and medals. He separated in 2008 as a Sgt. E5. He was a comic book enthusiast and enjoyed playing guitar, fishing, playing basketball and boxing.

He loved his family more than anything and always put them first. He was the funniest and most loving person. He loved to make others smile and feel better. He was very intelligent and valued his small group of friends who he loved like family.

Joe is survived by his loving wife, Marlindy Badenhorst-White of Worthington; son, C.J. Badenhorst-White of Worthington; sisters, Jenny (Justin) Keller and Jessica White; nieces and nephews, Ty Keller, Megan (Preston) Hanneman, Torie Buchanan, Jordan Bough, Tristen Keller and Trinity Keller as well as a great-nephew, Lucas Bough.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents and beloved furbaby, Tysonovich Trotsky-White.

A celebration of life will be at a later date.
