Marjorie Maxine Bland

Marjorie Maxine Bland, age 98, died on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Parkview Village Christian Care in Odon in the company of her son, brother and daughter-in-law.

Marjorie was born in Bloomfield on November 11, 1925 to Wade and Mamie Fuller Resler. She was a 1943 graduate of Bloomfield High School and was employed at the Office of Price Administration (OPA) during WWII.

Marjorie married the love of her life, O. Raymond Bland on September 28, 1947, and he preceded her in death on November 1, 2004. Together they managed farms in Greene County until retirement age, at which time they moved to Terre Haute. They were involved in collecting and selling antique items. Marjorie enjoyed needlepoint and spending winters at Marco Island, Fla..

She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Bill Resler.

Surviving are her son, Randy Bland and wife Gayle of Terre Haute; a granddaughter, Adrienne Bland Clark and husband Jared of Seminole, Fla.; four great-grandchildren, Alexandria, Emma, Abigail and Isaac and her baby brother, Jim Resler.

The family is appreciative of the care provided by Parkview Village Christian Care and Heart to Heart Hospice of Jasper in her final week of life.

Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Red Cross.

Graveside services will be held at a future date at Roselawn Memorial Park.
