Judith “Judy” A. Lohr

Judith “Judy” A. Lohr, age 78, of Switz City, passed away at 3 a.m. on Friday, January 26, 2024 at her residence. She was born in Linton on October 7, 1945 the daughter of Henry L. and Lillian F. (Gabbard) Fisher.

Judy was a 1963 graduate of Linton-Stockton High School. She also graduated from beauty school and earned her associate degree in business from Vincennes University. She owned and operated Judy’s Beauty Shop in Linton and then worked as a cook at Worthington-Jefferson Schools for many years until her retirement.

She attended Linton First Baptist Church. She was a great cook, enjoyed fishing and loved to garden.

She is survived by four sons, Jeff (Martina) Swaby of Linton, Jon (Beth) Swaby of Linton, James Swaby of Linton and Ryan (Sarah) Swaby of Worthington; seven grandchildren, Ellery (Kris) Rogers, Alden Swaby, Ian Swaby, Erinn (Blain) Ferree, A.J. Swaby, Brittany Swaby and Breanna Swaby; one great-granddaughter, Lillian Ferree; one great-grandson due Feb. 2, Samuel Ferree and a sister, Debbie (Dan) Sligar of Dugger.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard “Rick” A. Lohr; a great-grandson, Remington Edward Ferree and a brother, Gary Fisher.

Funeral service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 with Reverend David Tyra officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
