James C. Wolford, 75, of Odon went to Heaven, on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at his home. He was born on March 11, 1948 in Linton to Carroll and Elaine (Campbell) Wolford. Jim married his loving wife, Glenda (Britton) Wolford, on June 13, 1970.

Jim attended the Plainville Christian Church. He was a member of the Newberry Masonic Lodge, Daviess County Hamm Radio Club, Daviess County Emergency Management, past member of the Odon Lions Club and past board member of the Odon Winklepleck Library. Jim served on the planning committee for the Odon Community Building and conducted mock interviews for Eli Lilly Scholarship applicants from North Daviess Community Schools.

He graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. Jim began his professional career at Crane Division Naval Surface Warfare Center as an electrical engineer in 1968 and retired from there as Director of Advanced Technologies in April of 2003. Jim enjoyed his grandsons, fishing with family and the “rainbow trout crew”, North Daviess sporting events, Purdue sports and the Odon APBA Baseball League.

Family left to cherish the memories of Jim include his wife, Glenda Wolford; son, Cole (Beth) Wolford; daughter, Amy (Randy Mayhall) Wolford-Miller; grandsons, Ike Wolford, Brees Wolford, Trevor Miller and Colton Miller; one brother, Robert (Vicki) Wolford along with several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to honor the life of Jim will be at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Ashley Shurtz officiating and words from friend Nyle Riegle.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. A Masonic Memorial Service presented by the Newberry Masonic Lodge will be at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Odon Winklepleck Library or Plainville Christian Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
