Anna Mary (Kirchner) Smith

Anna Mary (Kirchner) Smith, 101, of Jasonville passed away at 2:20 a.m. Monday, February 19, 2024 at Shakamak Good Samaritan Center in Jasonville.

She was born September 9, 1922 in Dugger to Frank Kirchner and Pearl (Salesman) Kirchner.

Anna married Lowell Max Smith on December 29, 1940, and he passed away on October 20, 1983.

Survivors include her daughter, Judith K. “Judy” (Floyd) Stone of Linton; daughter in-law, Debra Smith of Jasonville; grandchildren, Matt (Jill) Fougerousse, Shelly (Jeremy) Jackson and Jason (Jodie) Smith; great-grandchildren, Libbi Fougerousse, Kip Fougerousse, McKenzie and Lenzie Jackson and Abbie and Ben Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Earl Smith and two infant grandsons.

Anna graduated from Worthington High School in the class of 1940. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Anna loved to crochet and work in her flowers. She was a member of the Greene County Historical Society. She helped her husband Max in Smith’s Cabinet Shop.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox of Cox Funeral Home, 218 South Meridian Street in Jasonville. Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, February 22, 2024 at the funeral home. Services are immediately following at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mark Messmer officiating.

Interment will be at Peavey Cemetery in Howesville.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Anna to Worthington Garden Club. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
