Our beautiful angel, Angela Vickie (Palumbo) Gallagher, at the age of 71, went home to Jesus peacefully on March 4, 2024 at 12:19 p.m. on the wings of the angels of the Lord.

Vickie was born September 23, 1952 to Angelo Palumbo and Claudette (Boger) Palumbo in Portsmouth, Va..

Vickie was the oldest of four girls raised by Clifford and Claudette May, primarily living in Hymera. Vickie graduated from North Central High School in Farmersburg. After high school, Vickie worked various jobs but soon chose to be a licensed CNA caring for the elderly and sick. Caring for others was the natural choice for Vickie. She fell in love with every patient, caring for them with the greatest devotion and love. Each one was her family. She was a devoted wife and homemaker who was madly in love with her husband and son.

Vickie was preceded in death by her father, Angelo Palumbo; mother, Claudette June May; step-father, Clifford May and paternal and maternal grandparents.

Vickie is survived by her husband, Michael R. Gallagher; son, Michael R. Gallagher Jr.; granddaughter, Jasmine Gallagher; grandson, Caleb Gallagher and great-grandchild, Brinley Gallagher. She is also survived by three sisters, Audra Carmen Lang, Rhonda Cliffette Maxwell and Melodie Jane Quick. She also left behind a sister in-law, Reba Robinson; brother in-law, Cecil Gallagher; best friend, Carolyn Young as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She met the love of her life, Michael R. Gallagher, and they were united in marriage February 14, 1984. They were happily married for 40 beautiful years, together raising their sons and creating a lasting union between the three.

Vickie was a spirit-filled Christian all of her adult life, serving in her church and community in several positions. She loved working for Toys for Tots and anything that had to do with helping children. She cared for and loved so many children who were not her own. She was always willing to babysit, feed them, hug them and watch over them.

Vickie’s last few years, despite her illness, were filled with love and prayer for others, listening to her favorite gospel music, reading and calling to encourage others.
