Robert “Bob” Junior Padgett

Robert “Bob” Junior Padgett, age 86, of Linton, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at his residence. He was born in Melbourne, Ark. on June 8, 1937 the son of Robert Sr. and Nellie (Candler) Padgett.

He was a graduate of Linton-Stockton High School. He worked as an electrician for the union for several years and was also the owner of Harley’s Tavern for 24 years. He was a member of Linton Moose Lodge 1434, Linton Masonic Lodge 560 and the American Legion Post 22. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, cooking, fishing and mushroom hunting.

Bob is survived by his children, Pamala (Tom Flynn) Padgett, Bobbie (Chris Moore) Padgett, Starlene (Richard) Lucas, Randy (Lynn) Padgett, Riley (MaShelle Reeves) Padgett, Melinda (James) Sharp, Rocky (Erin) Padgett and Robert Junior Padgett II; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Lauretta Padgett as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Virginia Padgett; great-grandsons, Timothy Willard and Adam Ryan Fish as well as his sisters, Sandra Lou Peltier, Joretta Dixon, Linda Lou Padgett and Lola Mae Padgett.

Masonic service will be held at 1 p.m. at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. Private burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Greene County Humane Society through the funeral home.
