Michael “Joe” McKee

Michael “Joe” McKee, age 75, of Switz City, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 12, 2024 at Daviess Community Hospital in Washington. He was born in Linton on December 20, 1948 the son of Wilfred and Mildred (Tribby) McKee.

He was a graduate of Shakamak High School. He worked at GE for several years and then went to work for Citizens Gas where he retired from. He enjoyed farming, going to bible study and he loved spending time with his grandchildren and going to their ballgames to support them.

Joe is survived by his son, Kris (Brandee) McKee of Linton; daughter-in-law, Lora McKee; grandchildren, Kristen (Eric) Mirro, Kennideigh McKee, Ben McKee, Abby McKee, Addisyn McKee, Alyvia McKee and Ivan McKee; great-grandchildren, Amelia Mirro and Lillian Mirro as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Pamela McKee in February of 2024; son, Kevin McKee and infant sister, Susan McKee.

Funeral service will be held at 7:30 p.m. at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 with Jeff Fulk officiating. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Dixon Cemetery in Worthington.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saron United Church of Christ through the funeral home.
