“Mayfield’s Mutts and More” art by Rylie Daisha Mayfield
Opening this Saturday at the South East Gallery at the Carnegie is the solo show “Mayfield’s Mutts and More” art by Rylie Daisha Mayfield.
Artist Rylie Daisha Mayfield, daughter of Dewayne and Rebecca Mayfield, is currently a college freshman at Indiana University where she is pursuing a career in business.
Rylie’s artistic inspiration includes animals and nature with the appearance of a mixture of Tribal and Egyptian art styles. She enjoys the use of bright, vibrant colors with contrasting dark colors in order to achieve a more definitive effect.
Her interest in art began at a very young age with Rylie and her grandmother Nancy Orr Mullis working with clay. With her family noticing her talent they arranged art classes with local artists Pat Woodall and Wyatt LeGrand to develop her skills.
At age 16, Rylie began her own business to consign and sell her art, Mayfield’s Mutts and More and presently at age 19 continues to sell her art and create more.
Stop by the Carnegie this Saturday from 1-4 p.m., meet the artist and view her unique art.
Hope to see you there!
