Yep, get your canvas stamped (so they know you painted it that day) and off you go into the wild blue yonder of the outdoors! I love the freedom of painting outside (plein air) with all the beauty of nature as your muse. This time I had a young buddy with me, my 8 year old grandson, Drew...

"While wandering a deserted beach at dawn, stagnant in my work, I saw a man in the distance bending and throwing as he walked the endless stretch toward me. As he came near, I could see that he was throwing starfish, abandoned on the sand by the tide, back into the sea...

Don't Judge Those With Invisible Illnesses
Posted Tuesday, January 3, at 9:09 AM

Being the extremely private person that I am, I have chosen to not write about my illness. Today that changed. Having just left the funeral of my sister-in-law, I stopped at a local store on my way home. I have a disability tag that my cardiologist wrote the paperwork for to use in my vehicle and I parked in a disabled parking place. I sat in my car for a while as I have to take medication to control my excessive heart rate and blood pressure any time I walk very far...

Hard to Say Goodbye
Posted Monday, July 25, at 12:09 PM

My mother died two weeks ago. After the numbing flurry of activity that happens after a death, life has slowed down, and I have had time to reflect and come to some conclusions. Losing a mother regardless of the situation is very hard. My mom had been in very poor health for over two years and the decline was painful to watch. When you love someone, to see them suffer is horrible. I thought I would feel relief for her when she passed. Instead I feel a part of me is gone...
