The sun will come up
Wait. There are times when that word is a wonderful reprieve from the rush of daily activities. A much needed rest, even if for a few minutes. Then there are those times when the wait seems long and drawn out and you are sure the answer will never come.
Did you know that the Lord also waits? Isaiah 30:18 says, "Therefore, the Lord will wait that He may be gracious to you."
Isn't that what we want, His graciousness? When an unpleasing situation arises it would seem that God would send an immediate answer to fix it. Yet, even He must wait for an exact moment.
During the winter season the sun seems to take longer and longer to rise and some days leaves the thought will it ever pop up over the darkened clouds. But rest assured, the sun WILL come up. The sun cannot be rushed in its rising but if we wait something glorious happens. God has perfect timing for all things. The sun, in that exact second the Lord speaks to it, will arise revealing stunning colors across the morning sky. Well worth the wait.
So it is while we wait on the Lord. We cannot rush Him, though to our eyes no answer is in sight and the clock is ticking away. But rest assured, He WILL answer. He has perfect timing for all things. Wait and watch to see the Lord is good. Something glorious will happen and it will be worth the wait.
Psalm 27:14 Wait patiently on the Lord, be of good courage and He shall strengthen your heart. Wait on the Lord.
