Relax with Him
Dawn peeks over the treetops to awaken God's glory across the morning sky. Birds chirp and trees whisper His peace across the painted horizon. Bees hum while feeding colored blooms and sparkles of dew reflect His beauty. A lot of happenings for so early in the morning. Seems like creation is all abuzz, when all I want is a cup of coffee.
Rising early is one of the best times of the day to enjoy what God has given. It's a time to relax with Him and listen. The earth is fresh and clean from the past day's toil, and the mind is not yet cluttered with busyness. The things of the earth do not worry over how their day will progress. They know the One who created all things has lighted their path with the day-sun. They are confident of progressing in their work. Forward is their direction with no lacking. They are confident, trusting their Creator to fulfill His purpose through them.
Being confident is not always as easy for us. Yet, scripture says to be confident, not in ourselves, but because God will complete the good work He started in us. Philippians 1:6 If we could just get this concept! Instead, we wonder what is our purpose, what plan the Lord has and how He will direct our path.
God is not wanting something so great from us that only a few can achieve. Colossians 3:17 tells us whatever we do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Most of us remember the Sunday School lesson learned as a child of the Good Samaritan. He simply did a deed for another as unto the Lord and his story has been told thousands of times.
We were created to praise the Lord, love Him with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and then love others before self. In so doing, we will be sharing the love of Jesus Christ along the way.
What a joy to serve and work for the Lord. Trust in the Lord. Be confident . . . the pay is great!
