Bird Feeder
Somewhere in the midst of my winter blues, I decided to provide a hospitable place for birds to eat. So, I fashioned some empty milk jugs into bird feeders.
Custom-built bird feeders are more for the person filling them with seed than for the birds they are feeding.
My neighbor converted two salad bowls into a bird feeder. The neighbor across the street has a glass jar bird feeder so he can easily see when it’s time to add more bird seed.
My Aunt Hilda makes bird feeders and birdhouses from gourds and hangs them around her porch. Would blue jays, finches, starlings and other birds visiting my yard be more excited if my bird feeder offered a little deck so that feathered guests could visit? I think not.
Mix together my simple bird feeder with my universal bird seed and you will see a scene from Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds” in my backyard.
