The Greene County Daily World is pleased to announce the 2009 All-Area Volleyball Team. It's a squad that includes four representatives from the Southwestern Indiana Athletic Conference and Class 2A Sectional champion Eastern Greene Lady Thunderbirds, three from Tri-River Conference Tri-champions Shakamak Lady Lakers, two from the Linton-Stockton Lady Miners (who also shared the TRC title) and one each from Bloomfield and White River Valley...

Dixie Anne (Booher)Rippy, 71 of Linton, died at 10:42 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 27, 2009 at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute. She was born in Linton on April 11, 1938, the daughter of Wendell "Bub" and Anne (Lynch) Booher. She was a graduate of Switz City Central High School. She was employed by the Linton-Stockton School Corporation for 42 years, retiring as Food Service Director in 2002...
