Martha Christine McCoy, 64, of Mt. Carmel, Ill., passed away at her residence on Saturday, April 9, 2011. She was born on February 5, 1947 in Lawrenceburg, Tenn. to Edward L. and Eddice (Badgett) Gibson. Martha loved her animals. She is survived by her husband, Gus McCoy of Effingham, IL; children, Ed Leviner of Hebron, IN, Greg Choate of Petersburg, IN, Riley Choate of Crofton, KY and Sandi Lester of Linton, IN; four sisters, one brother, 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren...

City of Linton to assist youth summer leagues

Look for the city of Linton to possibly seek grants that would help fund the creation of a youth complex for local baseball and softball. The idea was brought to the table by Linton Mayor Patti Jones who also provided some background on the matter. Currently, both the boys and girls summer leagues rely on use of complexes at the Linton-Stockton School Corporation and discussion on this is not a bad reflection on the L-S High School, Jones explained, noting budget cuts are hurting public schools......
