What makes you laugh?
I was just sitting here, wondering what to write a column about. As I often do, I employed the time-honored tactic of staring off into the distance. It’s a tool, not a time-waster.
As I cast my mental line into the ether, hoping to hook a tasty prompt, my very-short attention span took a sharp left, guided by the sound of Tia and Nate laughing in the newsroom behind me.
They could have been laughing at me, but I chose to believe otherwise because it’s been a really good day so far and I don’t want to ruin it with paranoid thoughts or reality.
That brief segue of thought was enough to make me wonder, what makes people laugh?
For me, it’s usually something either really childish and silly, something clever and punny or a video of someone falling down. Also babies being scared by farts and babies laughing hysterically. So basically, either baby terror or baby joy, both equally entertaining in my book.
I also like videos in which animals are confused. The face of a confused cow always cracks me up and there’s nothing more amusing than a puzzled pig.
Speaking of clever and punny, try this: A priest, a pastor and a rabbit walked into a blood clinic. The nurse asked the rabbit, “What is your blood type?” The rabbit answered, “I am probably a type o.”
HA HA HA HA HA......get it, type o, typo? Rabbit....rabbi? Funny, yes?
