BREAKING NEWS: 10 area departments battle fire at Greene County Wood Products

More than 50 firefighters from 10 area volunteer departments responded to a large scale fire late Tuesday night at the Greene County Wood Products plant, located about six miles east of Bloomfield on Ore Branch Road. The fire was visible for miles as the sky glowed and was seen as far away as Worthington, according to firefighters on the scene. "You could see it (the fire) from Bloomfield and you could see it from our station (at Little Cincinnati), so it was big," Center Township Fire Chief Jeremy Inman said just after dawn Wednesday.

Water main break in Bloomfield causes some damage

An Eastern Heights Utilities Company water main break caused some damage in Bloomfield on Tuesday afternoon. Kenny McIntosh, general manager of the water company, explained that the problem is now fixed, but that an cast iron water main snapped around 12:30 p.m. and crews had it fixed by 4 p.m...
