County Council makes no change after surveyor asks for more office hours

Greene County Surveyor Ira "Butch" Wright appealed to the county council Monday to allow funding to keep his office open on a full-time basis after Jan. 1. Wright's 2011 budget was cut and a first deputy position was eliminated. Wright, who serves as a part-time surveyor earning $21,320 a year, has said he's going to cut the full-day office hours back to two days a week after the new year because he doesn't have a full-time person to work in the office...

Man accused of theft of cash used to bond buddy out of jail
