Arrest made in 'meth bust' near Lyons

A methamphetamine manufacturing lab in Greene County was put out of business and one man arrested over the weekend after an investigation originated by the Linton Police Department. Brian Keith Morton, 44, Lyons, was booked into Greene County Jail at 10 p.m. Saturday on preliminary charges of manufacturing methamphetamine, a class B felony, and possession of precursors with intent to manufacture methamphetamine, a class D felony. He is being held without bond.

Family tragedy: One killed in Monday morning wreck

A rural Bloomfield man died in a head-on collision Monday morning on State Road 54 in eastern Greene County that turned out to be a real family tragedy. The victim, Morris Todd, 73, of Route 6, Bloomfield, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 7:18 a.m. crash by Greene County Deputy Coroner David Rollison.
